WE are so proud of our ever-growing West End family!
Today WE sit down with Lauren Becker to discuss her career and what she loves about being part of the West End team.
Tell me about yourself: I grew up as an "army brat" and have lived all over the world. My family moved 12 times by the time I was 15 and then we settled in Randolph. I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Special Education and then went straight to teaching 3rd grade. I love teaching and was honored with teacher of the year in 2016. My husband, Dana and I have been married for 4 years. We have a 3 year old French Bulldog, Luna, and love going to NJ Devils games together.
How long have you been in the industry? I've been working in real estate for almost 6 months.
What drove you to become a real estate agent? Nicole sold my husband and I our first home and she is the one who gave me the push I needed to get my license. I saw how successful she was so I took the class, and ended up loving every minute of it. I was surprised at how interesting I found the course content, and I couldn’t wait to jump in and get my feet wet. Additionally, my aunt owns an interior design company and she wants to expand her business and start investing in flips. Her vision is to have an all-female, family-run business with me and my cousins each specializing in our own niche and my niche would be real estate.
What made you choose West End? I met Danielle at a friendly gathering, and instantly took a liking to her. She was the reason I decided to meet with Janis and after meeting Janis, I canceled my remaining interviews with "big-box" agencies and joined West End Residential. West End offered so much more than just a place to hang my license. They were fair, reasonable, and supportive in me trying to start my own business.
What do you love about being a real estate agent? I love seeing houses and meeting new people! As much as I love helping clients find their dream homes I also really love educating them in the process so they feel confident and excited about making one of the biggest purchases of their lives. I also enjoy learning a trade completely different from teaching and expanding my skill-set.
What has been the highlight of your West End experience so far? Meeting so many wonderful people! Everyone is so open and willing to lend a helping hand, answer questions and fill-in for each other. I have mentors everywhere I turn!
What do you like about the training and environment West End provides? I love the training and how the topics are tailored to the current market. The training sessions are also a great chance to hear from others, learn from their experiences (both good and bad) and ask questions. The office environment is everything you could ask for. WE are in a beautiful new office that is comfortable and homey for agents while being sleek and high-end for clients.
How do you envision your real estate career progressing? I plan to work hard to build a client-base, network and make connections so that my goal of being a full-time real estate salesperson can be realized as soon as possible.
